ALIVE
That's the feeling you get, the experience you live.. ("ALIVE !") that is what we could perceive when looking up to gorillas climbling trees, while we're standing at the bottom of this sea of marantacae forest.. ("ALIVE !") It is the energy transmited by comitted people to sharing their culture through the attention given to one's needs.. ("ALIVE !") That rumble ! - that sweetens one's dream, and that exictment when at the baï elephants gather and scream.. ("ALIVE !") A delight, exploring elephants boulevards through sawmp forests, feet in the water as a red sun rises, and through the mist we are comforted by a warm breaking light.. ("ALIVE !") Vibrant smiles by a place that welcomes you with open hearts.. ("ALIVE !") When a vision survives and get passed on through generations, we now talk of heritage..An African Rainforest success-story ! KAMBA CAMPS ARE ALIVE !

Life Time experience in the Congo Basin Rain-forest
I lost a shoe ... in a stream off the Lekoli river ... in the Congo Basin, as we waded thigh-high in mud to go around some forest elephants we bumped in to! What a life-time experience!

An experience not only full of adventure but also of peace and beauty. I put my camera down eventually so as not to not miss a moment. By all accounts my experience was spectacular, the elephants were just one highlight, not to mention the chimpanzees leaping from tree to tree, the flocks of African Grey Parrots, the graceful Bush Buck grazing peacefully in a clearing.....and and and... I am grateful to the guides, not only for their experience (made me feel safe) but also the really interesting information they shared all along the walk.

A journey where few people are able to go!
Each and every day that you are in The Congo you stop and say out loud " I am in The Congo!" That's how it feels to be there. What is amazing are the camps that are run by this company. They are certainly some of the best camps that my wife and I have ever been in. They are not the new East Africa camps with AC and European furniture but the top of the line African Camps. But this is not the reason to go there. Of course the Low Land Gorillas are the big draw. But when you are there you realize it is the staff at all three of the camps that makes your experience one you will never forget. From the porter who carries your bags to the staff that runs the camps to the fantastic chiefs who cook some of the best food we have ever had in our many African trips.

This is wild Africa. One of our best trips ever. Odzala is great.
Fantastic experience, wonderful luxury accommodations, excellent, really delicious interesting meals, great accommodations with large comfortable beds, lovely private bathrooms, friendly staff, expert guides and trekkers. We had the best vegetarian ravioli ever and I lived for a long time in Italy. The minestrone was by far the best I have ever had, even in Italy. My French wife lived in the RDC from 13 to 21 since her father was a pilot for Air Congo. Given the troubles in RDC, we selected Odzala.

Rainforest Experience & Luxury; A once in a lifetime visit.
Kamba have three lodges all very different and beautiful and unique and we move to each after a few days. Joshua Duffus is head guide and we get the VIP guiding treat. Day one and two are at Mboko lodge and our days are spent exploring extraordinary forests along forest elephant trails or along waterways by boat or wading streams and marshes knee to chest deep. We saw so many birds and animals including 5 types of monkeys and an African Grey parrot breeding site deep in a forest. Forest elephant and buffalo appear like ghosts out the forest and marshes and giant forest hogs burst squealing away in the undergrowth. It's quite a thing walking in their space the sights and sounds ....exotic and beautiful.
