About

The Congolese rainforest has basically two seasons: Wet and Less Wet (also known as Dry). Rain is an essential part of the ecosystem and brings a cooling effect on balmy days. And we have dry days too! Because we are on the Equator, temperatures fluctuate very little, ranging from 25°C to 28°C (77°F to 82°F).

Knowledge

Creating transformative experiences for visitors to the Congo Basin spreads awareness of its vital importance — both as a carbon sink that helps counteract global warming, and as a habitat for rare and wonderful flora and fauna.

Education

Funding education, health care, and training opportunities for local residents helps them achieve economic self-sufficiency while maintaining their traditional way of life, and demonstrates the value of preserving their natural heritage.

Research

Supporting scientific endeavors in the Congo Basin — through SPAC’s own research station at Ngaga, led by renowned primatologist Magdalena Bermejo, and with partners such as the Wildlife Conservation Society — deepens our understanding of biodiversity and helps protect threatened species.
